Strategic Planning Process Updates & Summer SDE Events

Hi Everyone,

Last week we held a community meeting to share about our proposed projects and initiatives for the next few years. We are so grateful to those of you who showed up and shared your insights and ideas, as well as those who submitted feedback through emails and messages! If you missed the meeting you can find our working draft of proposed initiatives, along with more notes and updates under “Our Work” on our About ASDE page. Please email us to share any feedback or project ideas you have! And keep an eye out on our newsletter and social media pages for announcements about our next Community Feedback Meeting.

We want to be transparent in this process, so it’s important to share that we will not be able to focus on many of these projects until January 2023. Our executive director will be taking maternity leave starting in the summer, and our priority is to plan for the sustainability of the organization in her absence. We are still excited to be looking to the future and focusing on the projects and initiatives we do have space for.

Summer SDE Events

Is anyone thinking about summer? I know I can’t fathom planning for it yet, but it’ll be here before we know. There’s lots of SDE happenings over the summer, including ALF Summers that are returning after being (mostly) on hold during the pandemic! Check out the ALF 2022 Trainings page to learn about all the ALF Summers and other offerings happening this year.

The Summerhill Festival of Childhood will take place this August, 2022, in Suffolk, England. Find out more here.

More SDE events are posted on the event page on our website. You can check back to stay updated on events and submit your own events to that page.

Sincerely,
The ASDE Organizing Team
